Smarter Drafter Pro Adds Profile Signature with Granular Controls

Adding signatures to documents is one of those small but time-consuming tasks that can slow things down.

Our latest update makes it simple for users to insert a Profile Signature (signature image) during drafting or review in the Word Add-In - while giving firms complete control over how signature images are used.

A Better User Experience

From a user’s perspective, it’s straightforward: when filling out a form, they’ll immediately see if their signature image is already saved in their user profile. They can preview it, and if needed, upload a new image in seconds. The signature is now managed by Smarter Drafter Pro. No more hunting around for a file or dragging a signature into place - just click and move on.

The signature image is also available in the Smarter Drafter Word Add-In, where it can be easily dragged and dropped into the document during review.

Built for Security and Compliance

Unlike other automation platforms, we know that a Profile Signature carries weight. That’s why this feature comes with the same level of control you’d expect from a system trusted by enterprise firms.

• Direct Mapping: Builders can map the “Signature” field directly from a user profile into a form.
• Granular Permissions: A new “Signature” permission type allows admins to decide who can access others profile signatures to be used in documents, with three levels of control:
  
  1. No Access: Users can’t merge others' signatures at all.
  2. Access to All Users: Users can insert any active user’s signature (unless the owner has disabled it).
  3. Specific Users: Access is restricted to named individuals.

• User level opt-out: On top of this, each user can opt out entirely from having their signature used by others, regardless of the permissions set.

Optional and Admin-Controlled

By default, signatures in forms are turned off. An admin must explicitly enable the feature and define access. This ensures firms adopt signatures in a way that fits their compliance and workflow standards, rather than leaving the door open to misuse.
